Luke stared a moment longer under tattered eyelids at the mask, the mask he had hidden beneath, the mask that had concealed a face she had asked to see... a request he felt it might have been better to refuse.

As I'm not entirely familiar with your style of drawing, I'll wait to post an actual critique on you. I need to get familiar also with your character and his problems.
However, having one's face melted would be entirely unfortunate. You did an excellent job with his expression. It matches very well with the small blurb you provided about him. I sense something of a vunerabilty when he is without his mask, though more assurance when he's wearing it, which you hit very well. :3
